Internet Marketing Beginners Guide

Starting your own marketing business (internet marketing beginners guide) is not as easy as you may believe.
And this can clearly be seen in the fact that 90% of Internet marketers fail, as with all things there is money to be made, but that all depends on your approach.

You have to treat Internet marketing the same as any other business, you need a strategy, must be committed, and be prepared for hard work.
I have compiled a few tips that will guide you in the right direction:

You must remain committed to one strategy only

When most people start out by our side tracked by all sorts of offers, advise and tips. There are some good courses online that can teach you the basics, of course they are not free but you need to start somewhere.

If you are on a tight budget I recommend marketing forums where you can learn from more experienced marketers, I am a member of and highly recommend WARRIOR FORUM. It is a very good place to pick up some good advice and tips and boasts past and present members such as; Mike Filsaime and Frank Kern among others.

Choosing a Niche

This is a very important part of Internet marketing, if you get this wrong it will make things much harder for you.
It’s not as straightforward as choosing a niche which interests you or on which you have some knowledge, there are many other factors to take into account, competition, search volume and buyer intention are just a few.
You have to make sure that you research your chosen niche properly or you could be shooting yourself in the foot before you start.

Building a Website

This may be tricky if you’ve had no prior experience, luckily for you there are a few good WYSIG editors that make it as easy as drag and drop, Kompozer and XSITE Pro come to mind. But there’s also the option to outsource this to more experienced web designers.

Creating Content

The phrase “content is king” was coined by none other than Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft. Now what this means to you is that creating good content for your website or Blog will become one of your main tasks. If you know a lot about your chosen niche creating good content will not be a problem otherwise you could once again outsourced the work.

Getting Traffic

Once you’ve managed to put together a good website with unique content you will need to drive traffic to your site. You can have the best website in the world, but if you get no visitors your hard work will be wasted.

There are two main ways to get visitors to your website, the first is organic traffic:
This is traffic referred to your website by the search engines, but in order for this to happen you will have to be on the first page of Google, Yahoo or Bing. This is easier said than done and require a lot of SEO work.

The second is paid traffic:
This is mainly paid advertising such as Google Adwords, Facebook or Banner ads.
You can lose a lot of money with paid advertising if you don’t know what you are doing, so research this first before you dive in.
